Trump is a such dirty word in high-society circles these days a relative of the indicted former president left her surname completely off a recent charity gala invitation.
Charity God’s Love We Deliver sent out a letter to supporters for its upcoming Golden Heart Awards dinner — where tables go for up to $150,000. You can even have your name on the event that will honor Scarlett Johansson and Ben Platt for $500,000.
Chairpersons include Vogue boss Anna Wintour, fashion maven Michael Kors and the designer’s CEO John Idol.
But at the bottom of the letter asking, “to help us make this the most successful Golden Hearts Awards ever,” is another name, just “Blaine.” That’s it.
While Wintour, Kors and Idol all have their names printed with the signatures below, Blaine — with no surname — stands out.
Presumably it’s Blaine Trump, vice-chair of the org’s board.
On the charity’s web site, Blaine appears as “Blaine Beard,” under her maiden name.
She is the Donald’s former sister-in-law, having been married to his late younger brother, Robert, from 1984 to 2009.
Said a source who received the October awards invite with the somewhat confusing single moniker, “The signature is just ‘Blaine’ — and it’s not exactly like she’s Cher or Madonna.”
We guess, if you know, you know!
It’s not the first time Blaine has avoided using the controversial Trump name.
Park Magazine reported in a 2022 profile that the mere mention of her last name, “once led a waiter in California to say he wouldn’t have served her if he knew she was a Trump.” The mag added, “Now, she often just uses her first name, ‘Because it’s easier,’ explained Blaine.”
The piece also said, “Today, her biggest trouble is trying her best to remain coy about her last name when meeting new people.”
