Speaking on a podcast, Batman star Ben Affleck revealed some important new details about an upcoming scene in The Lightning it was about Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.
Gadot has been having an interesting time in the DCEU lately.
for one wonder woman 3 was canned by Warner Bros. in late 2022, leaving the ultimate fate of the character and the actress playing her unknown.
Despite this, she appeared in Zachary Levi’s Shazam! wrath of the gods. And according to Jack Dylan Grazer, who plays Freddy Freeman in the recently released film, she could be in it too Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Before joining (possibly) Jason Mamoa, all indications are that Wonder Woman will appear alongside Ezra Miller and Affleck The Lightning.

Speaking on the Smartless podcast, Ben Affleck opened up about his time as Batman in the DCEU and also happened to spoil a key scene for Gal Gadot in the upcoming one The Lightning.
Affleck admitted that after playing Batman for so long, he’s only now “I figured out how to play [him]:”
“I finally figured out how to play the guy … I was like, ‘Wait a minute, am I — Is that — I quit, I know I quit, and I know I came back, but now I’ve got it understood.’ It’s like, you know, when you do the audition and you’re on your way home, you’re like, ‘Ooh.’”
While he didn’t want to spoil when that moment was, he shared that it was about being “saved by Wonder Woman:”
“I mean, I don’t want to spoil it, but it was a scene where I get caught and saved by Wonder Woman during a fire with some baddies. And she saves me through – I mean, I’m sure the spoiler, DC assassins are gonna get me, but…”
The actor offered other key details about Gal Gadot’s cameo as Wonder Woman, noting that it was that of the heroine “Lasso of Truth” something that prompts Batman to do so “[divulge] some of his true feelings about his life and work:”
“She saves me with the lasso of truth. And what happens is Batman reveals some of his true feelings about his life and work… I was like, ‘Wait a minute, I get it!’
Gadot spoiled once again
First Gal Gadot’s third solo outing was canceled, then her cameo Shazam! wrath of the gods was spoiled in marketing, and now this.
However, to be fair, fans already had an idea in which the hero would appear The Lightning Thanks to some set photos and the official Funko Pop! Pay.
Hopefully these rumors of Gadot being cut from Ezra Miller’s upcoming project will prove false. The scene Affleck described sounded like a joke.
As for Affleck, he previously spoke about what his role in it is like The Lightning is the only time when he really “nailed” the role of Batman.
Still, the star’s self-estimated five-minute screen time in the upcoming DCEU movie will likely be his last under the hood. While at one point he might return to usher in a big one Infinite Earth Crisis-style event seems to be ditching that idea thanks to James Gunn’s big upcoming reboot.
With so much Gal Gadot this year, potentially in as many as three different DCEU films, one might get the idea that Warner Bros. might want to keep the actress.
The Lightning hits theaters worldwide on June 16.
