‘Lauren Conrad walked so Emily could run’: Lily Collins reacts as fans point out she appeared in The Hills Paris episode YEARS before Emily In Paris
Lily Collins is paying homage to a reality star whose adventures may have helped inspire Emily in Paris.
The 33-year-old actress, who has been enjoying some downtime with her husband, shared a video on Instagram Monday of a woman named Mackenzie Barmen watching The Hills with the caption ‘Why is Emily in Paris on The Hills when Lauren is in Paris??? Lmao.
‘Okay, wait, I’m watching The Hills right now and it’s when Lauren is in Paris. Tell me why Emily in Paris is here. Watch this,’ she said.
‘Okay, here we go, just hold on’, the viewer exhorts as video shows a group of models in a group shot.
‘Wait for it…. right there! Why is she here?’ Mackenzie asked as the camera zooms in on Lily, who is smiling and she stands among the others, and modeling a beautiful set of diamond earrings in the shape of a flower chain.

Commenting on the post, the Emmy nominee wrote, ‘I repeat: Lauren walked so Emily could run. I love the internet…’
The Love Rosie actress was just one of many celebrities who had cameos in the show focused on Lauren Conrad who after graduating from high school and the reality show Laguna Beach, went on to have an internship at Teen Vogue.
The MTV show ran from 2006- 2010.
Fans loved the video. One pointed out it appeared to be the Bal des debutantes, an annual event in which the daughters of well-known families are introduced to the world of high fashion.
According to L’Officiel, Lily participated in the event in 2007 and the episode which aired in the third season of The Hills was named ‘Paris Changes Everything.’
Another mentioned seeing Lily’s dad, rocker Phil Collins, in the episode as well. Perhaps the most enthusiastic comment explained, ‘Oh my goodness!!! The future womanifested itself! It was always meant to be.’
While Lily has gone on to steadily build a successful career since that appearance, Lauren, now 37, has gone on to live her dream of working in fashion.
According to her website, the designer went on the launch the LC Lauren Conrad line for Kohl’s, creating ‘fashion and fine jewelry, fashion accessories, footwear, handbags, bedding, bath, giftables, cold-weather accessories and ornaments.’
