The Walking Dead’s Tom Payne Gives His ‘Incredible Wife’ A Shout-Out After Birth Of First Child
'The Walking Dead' star Tom Payne welcomed his first son into the world with his wife Jennifer Akerman.
The Walking Dead star Tom Payne, 39, welcomed his first son into the world, along with his wife 32-year-old musician Jennifer Akerman. Confirming the big news in a recent Instagram post, the actor wrote that his son, named Harrison Magnus Austin Payne, was born on January 5th, 2022.
Payne and Akerman for almost ten years, going public with their relationship in 2013. The two tied the knot on December 21, 2020 during a private affair. Speaking on the talk show Live With Kelly and Ryan, at the time, Payne opened up about the experience. He said, “We got married in front of our fireplace in our house by our contractor.”
He added, “By the way, there’s no way we could have done it in front of 150 people. Jennifer couldn’t say her vows, I had to say it. She gave me a piece of paper.”
Tom Payne Shouts Out His Wife After Birth Of Son
Payne, best known for playing Jesus in The Walking Dead and Malcolm Bright in Prodigal Son, gushed about the birth of his son on Instagram. Sharing a sweet picture of his newborn holding onto his finger, he wrote, “Harrison Magnus Austin Payne, born January 5th. I can’t believe you’re here. We love you immeasurably and will always be there for you. The next big life adventure starts here!”
Shouting out the Cedar Sinai hospital, his doula, and his “incredible” wife, he continued, “Thank you so much to everyone at @cedarssinai, our amazing doula Carmen (@venicedelplay), and all of our friends and family for the support.”
“Not forgetting my incredible wife @iamfinalchild who rocked the whole pregnancy and birth. I love you,” the star finished off with.
Payne’s Wife Shares Baby Picture On Instagram
Payne’s wife, Akerman, also echoed his sweet sentiment. The musician, also known under her stage name Final Child, wrote, “I can’t believe you are here. Welcome to the world Harrison Magnus Austin Payne. We love you so much.”
Prior to the birth of their son, Payne and Akerman exclusively spoke with PEOPLE Magazine about their show-stopping baby announcement. They revealed Akerman’s pregnancy in the music video for one of her singles.
The actor told the outlet, “We’re so happy to share with PEOPLE that we are expecting a baby boy by the end of this year! When Jen was preparing to release a new single for her Final Child project, we had an idea for a music video that also seemed like a fun opportunity to introduce people to our news.”
He continued to say, “She would have spent the whole video trying to hide it anyway so we thought why not include it as a surprise ending!”
Congratulations to the happy couple! Judging by the comments on the first look at their newborn son, fans and peers are excited to see more of Harrison in the future.
