Anastasia ‘Stassie’ Karanikolaou was born on June 9, 1997, and she was raised by a middle-class Christian family in Woodland Hills, one of the San Fernando Valley’s more “nondescript suburbs.” Stassie’s father is Periklis Nikolaos a Greek-born broker for World Financial Group who is also a successful businessman. Stassie and her father are very close, and those who keep up with the model’s YouTube channel have seen him in a number of vlogs.
For Father’s Day, Stassie shared a heartfelt message on Instagram which said “Thank you for always being there for me when I need you, for showing me unconditional love, for knowing how to cheer me up when I’m sad, and for dealing with my annoying ass on a daily basis. I couldn’t have asked for a better dad. I love you to the moon and back. Happy father’s day.”
Stassie’s mother is Nicolette Karanikolaou who is a housewife. Nicolette is also close to Stassie, and for the model’s birthday, the mother wrote on Instagram “You are such an amazing young woman with a beautiful life ahead. I wish you only success and happiness in your life, and I am so thankful that life brought us together.” While Stassie grew up with Nicolette, she is not her biological mother. In an interview with Bustle, Stassie opened up about her biological mother. “My mom struggles with addiction, so that was a big thing. We have a very distant relationship. I’ve seen her maybe a couple times in the past few years,” she said. Stassie added that her father worked 16-hour days and “he did whatever he could to provide the best life that he could for me and my sister. He was there.”
Kylie’s BFF also has an older sister, Alexia Karanikolaou, who works as a model as well. Apart from that, Alexia is also an established hair stylist, and she is frequently featured on her sister’s social media. Stassie went to a local high school in Los Angeles, after which she attended a local private college.

According to Page Six, Anastasia Karanikolaou met Kylie Jenner at a Barnes and Nobles bookstore at which Jenner was a part of a fan event. After that, the two reconnected at a friend’s house in middle school, and since then they have been very close, and they spent plenty of time together.
Stassie frequently appears on Kylie Jenner’s social media profiles, and in an interview with Teen Vogue, Jenner admitted, “You’ve been the most consistent and loyal friend in my life, and I feel like without you, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Because I wouldn’t be weird anymore. I’d be trying to be normal.” Whenever Kylie and Stassie take a break from posting pictures together, fans speculate that they aren’t friends anymore, to which Stassie said, “It’s nuts because I’m like, ‘I’ve known this girl since I was literally 13.’ If you think that [because] we don’t post a photo together for a month we’re not friends, you’re insane.”

In June 2022, Kylie Jenner dropped the new Kylie Cosmetics collab STASSIExKYLIE, which is a project the two besties worked on together. The two ladies have become such close friends, that Stassie even jokes the two are “going to move to a farm together and get married.” According to the model, the two “know too much about each other” and they are “stuck with each other forever.”
