Bella Hadid Is Going into Acting—and She Already Has a Major Gig

As it turns out, Bella Hadid is going from the runway to the big screen.
The supermodel just landed a recurring guest star role on the third season of Hulu’s Ramy, per The Hollywood Reporter. The Emmy-nominated comedy created by Ramy Youssef—who also stars in the somewhat-autobiographical show—is based on the story of a first-generation American Muslim living in New Jersey, and the spiritual, moral, social, and political challenges he faces.
It’s unclear what exactly Hadid’s role will be in the series.
Hadid has spoken of her desire to enter the acting world before. In a 2017 interview, she said she was going to “stick” with modeling for awhile, “and kind of ride it out.” But, she said, “Eventually, I’ll hopefully start dabbling in acting. But I want to be able to give my full attention to one or the other.”
At the time, she even said what kind of character she’d ideally like to play. “I think I want to be like a superhero,” Hadid said.
Hadid’s elder sister Gigi Hadid also got the acting gene, and recently did the voiceover for Mindy Kaling’s Netflix show, Never Have I Ever. “Had the BEST time getting to narrate a new episode of @neverhaveiever — I got your back, Pax! Check out Season 2, NOW on @netflix !!!! Big love to @mindykaling & the whole NHIE team!” she wrote in an Instagram post about her role in the show last year.
She also famously starred in Calvin Harris’s “How Deep Is Your Love?” music video, and in a 2015 interview she also expressed interest in diving deeper into the industry. “I feel like if I’m going to audition for a movie then it’s genuinely a part that I want to play,” she said.
The Hadid sisters take Hollywood? Fans cannot wait.
