Is Kendall Jenner Jealous Over Kylie Jenner’s “Billion-Dollar” Empire?

The famous clan had a particular career going for themselves except for Kylie.

While she’s not a billionaire just yet, Kylie Jenner does have a net worth of $900 million, which is an impressive feat whichever way people look at it, but how does her sister Kendall Jenner feel about her sibling’s sudden rise to fame and fortune?

Fans who have been following the family’s lives since the debut of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2007 would be well aware that everybody in the famous clan had a particular career going for themselves except for Kylie.

While her Kardashian half-sisters were making millions venturing out and launching their own clothing line, Kardashian Kollection, with Sears, they had also made bank on multiple spin-offs including Khloe & Lamar, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, to name a few.

Kendall, on the other hand, was always vocal about her passion for fashion and how she hoped to turn modeling into a full-time career, but it wasn’t clear as to what Kylie would end up doing given that all of her sisters had established brands.

Say what you want but Kylie certainly knew how to use social media to her advantage.

While she already had a wide following on Instagram when the mother-of-one launched Kylie Cosmetics in 2014, she directly promoted her limited range of lip kits to millions of fans around the world with little to no paid promotional campaign to market the release.

Given that she already had the following and a profitable business set for launch, there was no surprise that Jenner’s beauty products were selling out in minutes.

Her promotion tactics were simple: Showcase the products on her Instagram, have her friends try out all the colors she had on sale, and tell her fans when each set of items would go on sale.

While next to every celebrity is now launching their own beauty company, Jenner was one of the first big names to master the idea of starting a makeup business from scratch and using only her social media to generate traffic and convert those into sales.

Of course, now that Kylie makes a generous amount of money from her company, she can easily acquire a billboard in Times Square to further promote her line-up of products, but given that her Instagram account alone boasts of more than 160 million followers, it’s a no-brainer why she prefers to mainly advertise her items on social media. It’s free.

Is Kendall Jealous Of Kylie’s Success?

With an empire that’s reaching billion-dollar status by the year’s end, fans have wondered whether Kylie’s rapid success could’ve made Kendall feel jealous.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, however, Kylie stressed that she and her sister have never felt the need to compete with one another because they are both complete opposites of one another.

“Kendall and I were so close in age. We had a close bond, but we are definitely polar opposites,” the TV personality explained to the publication. “But it works out. We don’t ever cross. She does her thing and I do mine, then we come together and have a great time.”

Kendall went on to chime in to co-sign Kylie’s comments, insisting: “She likes black; I like white. My room was white and silver and gold, and hers was black, really dark. Kylie had a zebra pattern, and I had leopard. We responded to each other, so we would have our own thing. But we have similarities too; we’re definitely sisters.

“Kylie loved attention. She was obsessed with the Shakira song “Hips Don’t Lie,” and she would go up and put on a belly dancer outfit and come back and perform for everyone.” Kendall Jenner, on the other hand, didn’t covet the attention as much. ‘It was like, ‘Hey! Everybody watch Kylie … again!’”

But Kendall isn’t broke by any means. The leggy 24-year-old was ranked the highest-paid model in 2018, having fronted campaigns for Versace, Calvin Klein, Estee Lauder, and Balmain, just to name a few.

Her net worth has spiked up to an impressive $45 million, which obviously doesn’t compete with the numbers that Kylie makes in a year, but Kendall has made it perfectly clear that she’s not trying to overtake her sister – whether that’s with her beauty empire or the millions that have piled up in their bank accounts.

Aside from their respective careers, Kendall and Kylie also make a fortune appearing on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which was famously renewed in 2017 for another five seasons, costing the E! Network a whopping $150 million, according to reports.

While the money is split evenly between all cast members, that would leave Kylie and Kendall walking away with quite a hefty fee, especially when considering the amount of time they spend filming the reality show.
